Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is JENOVA?

    • JENOVA is an AI model specializing in calculating the intrinsic value of stocks by integrating fundamental analysis with quantitative machine learning methods.

  • What does fundamental analysis mean?

    • Fundamental analysis is the method of valuation that comprehensively analyzes company financial statements, future financial outlook, and various economic factors to estimate intrinsic value. Fundamental analysis assumes that the value of a stock is fundamentally based on the present value of its future expected cash flows, which is commonly modeled using the discounted cash flow (DCF) model.

  • What do I get by signing up to JENOVA?

    • By signing up, users get access to JENOVA's database of 500+ price targets on US stocks along with supplementary stock metrics such as multiples (P/E, P/S, EV/EBITDA, etc.) and historical price changes. Users can filter this database by industry, sector, and market capitalization.

  • Why doesn't JENOVA's database include more stocks?

    • JENOVA utilizes a highly stringent quality control system whereby stocks for which JENOVA was unable to consistently calculate accurate price targets are excluded from the database. This is to ensure that users are only shown the most statistically accurate and reliable price target based on historical performance.

  • What's the timeframe of JENOVA's price targets? Is it predicting the price after 3 months or after 1 year?

    • A price target represents the best estimate of a stock's intrinsic value based on the public information available as of the date when the price target is calculated. Therefore, a price target should not be interpreted as what the stock's price will be in 3 months or 1 year; instead, it should be viewed as what the stock's price should be today if it were fairly valued based on the available public information.

  • How come a stock that used to have a price target on JENOVA's database is no longer showing up?

    • Possible causes for this issue include: 1) this stock is no longer publicly tradeable, 2) a temporary data feed issue has resulted in JENOVA not being able to calculate this stock's price target in the latest update, 3) JENOVA's quality control system has determined that price targets calculated for this stock are no longer sufficiently accurate and reliable, therefore it has been excluded from the database.

  • When will JENOVA's database start including stocks from other countries?

    • Currently JENOVA only covers stocks of US-based companies. There are no plans in the near term to expand JENOVA's coverage to include stocks from non-US countries.

1. For informational purposes only, this is to demonstrate the performance of JENOVA Price Targets. JENOVA Price Targets are generated using out-of-sample data, which includes 635 U.S. stocks within JENOVA's coverage as of January 1, 2023. Other comparative metrics were also calculated for the same sample stocks as of that date. The correlation with average 1-year stock returns was determined using each respective metric (JENOVA Price Targets are converted to a percentage expected return format relative to their market price on January 1, 2023) and the average forward 1-year return (stock price change plus accrued dividend yield) of each sample stock from January 1, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
